About Reflexology
Reflexology focuses mainly on the feet but some situations require reflexology treatments on the hands and face (other disciplines include ears and face but require specialised training).
The feet are one of the most sensitive parts of the body, containing approximately 200,000 nerve endings per square centimetre. A reflexology treatment involves working on a range of carefully orchestrated pressure points. Using minute and precise movements, mostly with the thumb, stimulating the nerve endings to send signals to pain points or where there is an imbalance in the body's system. Stress is one of the most common factors responsible of an underlying illness.
About me
I am a Clinical Reflexologist offering reflexology as a complementary approach for people experiencing complex, acute, or long-term health symptoms. My work is informed by advanced training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and research-informed reflexology practice.
My clinical focus is on women’s reproductive and hormonal health, and I regularly work with clients who are seeking reflexology support alongside medical care in relation to menstrual difficulties, maternity journeys, perimenopause and menopause, and other hormone-related changes.
I also offer Baby Reflexology sessions, teaching gentle, adapted techniques parents can use when their babies are unsettled, including during periods of digestive discomfort, sleep disruption, reflux, wind, stuffy nose or teething issues.
In addition, I provide Limbic Reflexology, a specialised reflexology approach focusing on reflex points associated with areas of the brain involved in stress response, emotional regulation, and pain processing. This approach is often sought by clients living with persistent pain, heightened stress, anxiety, or fatigue, and is used as a complementary method alongside other forms of care.
I also run my own Reflexology Clinic in Victoria Park Village, East London, Uta Sempf Reflexology.
