WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology has first been practiced 3500 years ago in China and evolved over time through discoveries how our bodies work and how important a balanced system is to our health, mentally and physically.

Our feet are extremely sensitive and responsive to touch and considered as one of our most intimate body parts. Considering how hard our feet work for us and enable us to do everyday things they get very little appreciation. Each foot has over 7,000 nerve endings 26 bones and 33 joints and a network of more than 100 tendons, muscles and ligaments - and when these are out of alignment, so is the rest of the body. It is estimated that our feet lift on average ten fully loaded lorries in weight during a normal day.

Reflexology is also referred to as ‘Zone Therapy’. In reflexology, our feet and hands are divided into zones relating to our 11 body systems, following the theory that different reflex points are connected to different systems, organs and muscles of the body. Reflexology aims to achieve homeostasis, addressing areas in our bodies that are not in balance and giving us ill health.

It is a non-evasive complementary health therapy focusing on the healing aspect and promoting deep relaxation. Clients remain fully dressed during the treatment- apart from their feet and lower legs.
